How often views update

Sonder refreshes every video’s views from each platform every hour, then records new viral moments and milestones straight away. Every response carries views_updated_at so you can show how fresh the numbers are. Polling every 1 to 4 hours is plenty. Polling more than once an hour won’t return newer numbers.

Which videos are included

Only videos the author posted through Sonder to a connected social account. Sonder can’t see:
  • videos the author downloaded and posted by hand;
  • TikTok videos sent as drafts. Sonder sends TikTok uploads to the author’s TikTok inbox as drafts, and once the author publishes one in the TikTok app, Sonder can’t follow it yet. Instagram, YouTube and Facebook posts are tracked in full. We’re working on TikTok.

How long views are tracked

Each post is refreshed for 30 days after it goes out, which is when almost all of a short-form video’s views arrive. After that its numbers are final, and the video shows views_final: true.

How far back history goes

View history starts on 15 June 2026, when Sonder began tracking posts. Viral moments and milestones from then on were rebuilt from hourly snapshots, so their times are accurate to the hour.

Dates and times

  • Times are ISO 8601 in UTC, for example 2026-09-15T14:00:00.000Z.
  • Days in daily stats are UTC days. If your users see local days, use the exact times on events and videos to place things in their time zone.
